I’m glad Elena pointed out this thing about him often being unstable because it needs to be said, because it’s true. I won’t completely accept their relationship if they never discuss 2x01 and 2x20. They should talk about it. BUT the thing about his lash outs is that she triggers a lot of them. The worst of them anyways. She says something, hurts him; sometimes he’s so terrified for her life that he does idiotic things. And when she’s not the reason behind his freak out she can easily calm him down. We saw examples of that. I’m not saying this to excuse his actions. Of course if he’s going to go on killing rampages every time she says something stupid it’s never going to work. I’m just saying this because I think Rose’s quote about Damon being the best and the worst for Elena works the other way around too. They have the power to make each other the happiest, and they have the power to totally destroy each other. They’re equally intense in both good and bad. I saw people saying Elena wasn’t herself when she kissed him, that she doesn’t have so much passion in her. WHERE WERE YOU BEFORE. Just where. Elena always had this fire and the thing is she usually lets it out when she’s with Damon. She has fun with other people, but with him she has the biggest grins on her face. She argues with other people, but she yells at him like crazy. She never gets physical when she fights with other people, but she hits him and punches him. She forgives other people easily, but if he hurts her she can’t get over it for half of the season and keeps telling him how could you and I don’t wanna see your face. It’s not shocking that she’s so passionate about kissing him and that they both totally lost it in that moment. You know, in books Elena says that she and Damon are like flint and tinder, gasoline and a flamethrower. Just couldn’t be any more accurate. 

Ok and now something related to the gif I’m reblogging. If we skip the part when I tell you how much their faces are killing me here… no, let’s not skip that. THEIR FACES ARE KILLING ME. also, you get that basically he says I WANT TO BE WITH YOU I WANT TO MAKE THIS WORK, right? I don’t think we’ve heard this from him before. He’s always like… I love you but you’re with Stefan, I love you but blah blah blah. And here he says WE CAN TRY I WANT THIS. God, this ship gives me too many feelings. Someone please just shoot me.
